Conservative Liberal

I really dislike current politics. I think that I am in the vast majority of people who do not fit into a political party. I have my beliefs, you have your beliefs, every person on this planet has their beliefs. I am not going to knock anyone's beliefs........in this post. That said, political parties have ruined the democratic system.
I am currently referring to myself as conservative liberal, as I am clearly not green party but I have many points that fit firmly in both the democratic and republican parties.  Where is my candidate? Quite frankly, I don't have one. When I vote, I am typically voting for the "lesser of all evils," because I don't believe either party will offer what I want, an I definitely don't feel any current politician has the welfare of the American population anywhere on their radar.
Why on earth does anyone vote for someone who is spending millions of dollars to get elected. It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. They are up front to your face telling you that I am buying my way into office, and than you have to turn around and say where is this money coming from, and do we want to truly believe that it is given without expectation to reciprocate. Why do we allow his to happen? and buy into the party system year after year.
Under this system deals are being made. I voted for candidate A because he belived in 1234 but the rest of his party believes in 123D. In order to get party support candidat promises the party that he will support D over 4 even though his history is to support 4. In this case you ar not getting hat you are voting for. Another common situation is compromise, and blackmail. Party A wants to pass an education bill. Party B has nothing against the education bill but they rally need this social service bill passed. They blackmail party A saying everyone in party B will vote against your education bill unless everyone in party A votes for party B's social service bill. Everyone "wins" while at the same time everyone loses. Adversely, if they are not willing to "compromise" some very much needed and universally supported bills get turned down in a senate lock-down. This is the same reason that every politician looks like a liar.
How do we fix this? Historically, a third party is created that actively completed with the leading two parties and begins to dominate. As a result the other two change and adapt, one will fail and on will succeed. This resets the system and buys a few dozen years of.....more honest politics. What we really need is real change, and that starts from the very bottom. We need good honest people to run for office, ones who will not compromise their view. If we vote for the people who closest match out views, and those people do not stray from thier own views, we get fairly represented.
Things I do like about our system is the way we have a split congress, one represented by population and one represented by location. It spreads out the weight and really gives the closest thing to fair representation to all. For now I will continue to be a conservative liberal, and vote on specific initiatives while waiting for a real candidate to represent me.

A little about me

Hello Blogging Community,
Just as a way to begin, I'm going to post a little bit about myself and what my blog will be about. This is really my first attempt at a blog so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. There is a good chance there will be some errors as I hate to proofread but I'm sure at some point each posting will be updated as my better half is a "grammar nazi." And I say this with all the love in the world. That grammar Nazi helped me pull up my gpa in collage by editing all of my papers.
Shortly after collage I moved to the desert to be with my than fiance and her family. Having little job experience and a collage degree seemed to be a death sentence. Positions in my field required prior experience. On the other side of things entry level jobs did not want to deal with me under the guise of "overqualified." What I later learned is that most collage graduates feel they are above doing menial tasks so they severely under-peform at entry level positions.
After weeks of canvasing businesses and applying to every location I could think of and find, I got a break. Said drugstore had an employee theft problem that opened multiple positions that had to be immediately filled, and that was my start. Once I got my foot in the door it really gave me the chance to display the work ethic my parents had instilled in me. I was promoted into the management program within the first three months. Unfortunately at this point I clashed with the new general manger(GM) of the store I was sent to. He was fairly influential in the district so over the next two years his poor reviews followed me around. Tying to make ends meet while supporting my wife, myself and at this point my daughter was getting harder and harder and I was not super confident that I would be keeping my job. That combined with falling education standards, gang violence, and violent pharmacy thefts in stores I worked at, my wife and I decided the best decision was to start over. I found a GM in the pacific northwest that was willing to offer me a position as photo tech. It was a step down and a paycut, but I figured it was income that would be coming in while I looked for a new job. When we moved my company was opening two new locations and during that time they let me keep my title and pay while I worked to help with successful timely launch's. During that time I was given the opportunity to excel and proved my worth. I was able to keep my position as management trainee.
Over the next two years I worked under a wonderful manager who coached my pitfalls and encouraged my strengths making me a well rounded manager and helped me get promoted to executive assistant manager.(EXA) (Later blog will cover this a bit more but the way you conduct yourself as a manager has a massive impact on the lives of your employees.) As an EXA i was moved to a store that was struggling due to staffing problems but with another highly engaging store manager who gave me the chance to lead. She stepped back where she could and allowed me to make choices and decisions and learn to deal with the benefits or consequences of my decisions. She also gave me credit for what I had done, both good and bad, but it was mostly good. After getting my PTCB certificate I was promoted again to take over my own store.
I currently work as a general manager of a drugstore. For the most part it is a very fulfilling job that I personally find a-lot of meaning in. That said there are many stresses and frustrating parts of the job. It is a highly competitive industry and we are constantly "under the gun" to perform. I only see my boss every other month or so but every single person I employee including my pharmacist affect my reviews, my bonuses and my pay. If anyone is unsuccessful, is effects me. We also have to deal with many governmental regulations and auditors, some which I completely understand.......and others that make me question what our tax money is really being spent on.
As a result of my life experiences I have become a very cynical person by nature. What I see I often view as black and white or common sense but I realize that it is only my point of view. I'm also, in my opinion, a confident brilliant businessman as my business continues to grow in success. This blog is my way to get my thoughts out without having to directly defend them to coworkers. There really will be no direction, and I will talk about everything from politics to drivers to work and family.
The cast of regular characters will include myself, my family and possibly my staff depending on where this blog goes. First of all my and my wife have been married for five and a half years, and while we have had our ups and downs we are very happy in our lives. Darling Daughter (D.D), who is everything we ever wanted, is turning 7 this year, while my son (J.R.) was just born.
As I stated earlier, this blog will realy include anything and everything and will mostly be me complaigning about people apperent lack of "common sense." I welcome any feedback good or bad and welcome healthy debate, just please be polite.
Thank you
